Evenk skis

The basic structure is made of larch wood, collected in the first spring and hot-formed during the second spring. This wooden structure is glued with trout skin or, better still, wild reindeer sinew shellac after its shaping. The hides of the sole should have dense and slanted hairs: moose or reindeer winter leg skin are adequate, or horse or walrus skin may be traded for. 144 x 25 cm MusČe d'Ethnographie de Bordeaux 2 900.28.42
